Finding a Vet

Sometimes the best way to find a great local vet is to ask others who own cats. If you do not know someone in your neighborhood with a cat, contact your local animal rescue or go online and find an online discussion group in your area and start asking for recommendations.

In addition to helping you find a good, qualified vet, other cat owners can help you avoid the not-so-desirable vets. Ask plenty of questions as to why the person recommends the particular vet. Is the vet personable and knowledgeable about cats in general? Does he or she have experience? Are his or her prices reasonable, in the person’s opinion? Find out as much as you can as to why the person likes the vet. Also ask them what they do not like about the vet.
